Barca Red played two matches this weekend, the first on Saturday against Crown City United, leaders of the Central Division.  Barca played exceptionally well with the defense putting in another strong effort.  The 1-0 loss Barca suffered was as unlucky as it gets, with one breakaway goal  after a fluke bounce deciding the game.

The second game of the weekend against AYSC VNSO on Sunday saw much of the same defensive minded effort.  Savanah Rangel (#55), Kearston Stepenosky (#41), Lena Frankel (#76), and Gracie Magdeman (#6) all had multiple open field victories to keep AYSC from registering a shot on goal all game.  Taylor Jackson (#5), Emily Rosenthal (#24), and Maya Minguela (#99) turned up their aggression in the second half, benefiting from balls the defense was turning back, and each registered a shot on goal.  Along with strong play from every player wearing a Barca Shirt, Red registered their first tie of the year.  The match ended at 0-0.

Barca Red continues to show improvement as a team under Coach Stacey Rodwell, and also enthusiasm as individual players
