Undefeated this season, Barcelona California Blue GU11 holds steady at first place after Saturdays 6-0 victory over VC Fusion YSA Camarillo. An ambitious offense coupled with ironclad defense propelled the girls to their third consecutive win.  Some highlights:

* Lightning fast forward Charlotte Binder (#10) dribbled past defense to quickly score the first goal of the game
* Midfielder Rachel Sarvian (#21), the team's go-to player for her powerful foot, scored unassisted on a beautiful corner kick
* Awesome assist from defender Ally Sell (#3) - She executed a perfect pass to midfielder Zoe Maltzman (#14) who finished it off with a solid boot straight into goal
* Powerhouse mIdfielder Abbey Handel #20 bulldozed her way through the opposition to score.
* WIth her awe-inspiring ball skills, speed and hustle, forward (right wing) Noa Abramovitch (#19) won all of her 50/50s- keeping the ball up front where it stayed for most of the game
* Tenacious forward Clara Polsky (#23) fought hard to keep a nearly dead ball alive in the second half, ultimately passing it off to forward Binder (#10) who promptly fired it into the net
* Hats off to our solid defense-The ball didn't cross the midfield line in the first half, and VC Fusion YSA Camarillo did not get one direct shot on goal for the entire game. The inpenetrable defense team of Isabella Leone (#7), Rachel Sullivan (#00), Georgia Mc Corkle (#28), Hailey Chavez (#8) and Sell (#3) led the Barca girls to their second shutout of the young season
