Barcelona SC Red GU11 shut out Valley United Donald in a confident victory.  The defense of Lena Frankel (#76) , Kearston Stepenosky (#41), Luli Harrison (#11), and Co-Captain Savannah Rangel (#55) protected goalie Ellie Lieberman (#13) who faced one shot all game.  

 

Coach Stacey Rodwell started Co-Captain Maya Minguela (#99), Taylor Jackson (#5), and Bethanie Giniewicz (#18) as forwards, a formula that worked instantly with Bethanie and Jordy Ghajar (#4) , who played midfield to start the match, each scoring their first goals of the year.  Gracie Magdamen (#6) added a late goal for her second goal of the year off a Maya Minguela assist, one of two assists for Maya for the match.  Mixed in with midfielders Kylie Kurzban (#15) and Emily Rosenthal (#24) , the offensive press was too much for the Valley United team.  All players contributed in this win, with every girl playing their positions effectively and aggressively.  

 

Barca Red successfully protected home field and are showing increasing enthusiasm as a team.
