Our Mission Statement

We at Barcelona California are dedicated to the quality development of both the player and person.

We strive to educate and train youth in teamwork and individual excellence. We aim to develop players and equip them with the skills necessary to advance in competitive soccer. We take considerable pride in providing an environment that is fun, safe and friendly, and that nurtures player confidence, positive self-esteem and good sportsmanship. Our aim is to provide a fertile environment for learning and improving the skills of players who have demonstrated the desire and potential to succeed in a more competitive setting.

We choose not to compromise development for the sake of immediate results.  Success will be measured not purely based on wins and losses, but based on improved fundamentals, skills, tactical knowledge of the game, teamwork and the ability to play in more than one position. We believe that a focus on development without compromise, will lead to results that can be sustained over the long term.

History of the Club

The Club was founded back in 2002 as the Rovers Soccer Club and operated as such until the Board of Directors’ voted to change the operating name of the Club to Barcelona California in 2006, a name synonymous with success and broad based appeal in the soccer community. 

The Club has and will continue to transform itself to meet the evolving challenges imposed by the ever-changing landscape of youth competitive soccer in Southern California and the United States.

The program was originally designed as a seasonal program catering to talented kids competing in multiple sports. However, since those early days, the Club has evolved into a full-time, year round soccer program and now caters to competitive community based youth soccer players

Barcelona California has cemented its presence as a quality community based competitive soccer club based in Calabasas. Saturday home games are played at A.C. Stelle Middle School. Sunday home games are played at Calabasas High School’s all weather field.
